The visual arts after school programs at The Learning Station (TLS) forwards our mission of developing artists and athletes of well rounded character. While our students strive to excel in academics, they also have opportunities to give a strong voice to their creative manifestations as artists. The after school visual arts programs build a compelling foundation for further exploration and concentrated study of the opportunities in later years.

The strongest feature of the visual arts department is our passionate and accomplished faculty, all hired as professionals and practicing artists in their individual fields. In addition to their experience and talent, they exhibit strong communication and pedagogical skills that motivates our students. Mentored by these passionate teachers, our students develop their individual skills and talents and learn to work collaboratively in performances, galleries and productions. These skills and relationships continue long past kinder years.

While we recognize that all of our students will not become artists, it is our belief that the artistic journey is a powerful and transformative process that inspires the sciences as well as the arts and humanities. At TLS, we look to partner with the parents and communities as we move forward with the idea of “disruptive thinking” to foster innovation in all areas of our curriculum. At the same time, we will continue our mission to shape and promote our artists of today and of the future with ground-breaking programming and new technologies that support all that we do in the name of arts at TLS.
